Zach Kemper
1984 - 2005

Zach was born on October 17, 1984 and spent most of his life in Round Rock, TX.  He grew up with a big heart for his family and friends, also having a deep passion for sports. Zach went on to graduate with the Stony Point High School class of 2003 and was an outstanding 2-sport athlete, having lettered 3 years in varsity football and 2 years in varsity baseball. Although Zach was a natural talent, he knew success only came with hard work- both on the field and in the classroom. Zach was not always the tallest, strongest or fastest, but he had the biggest heart. He was not afraid of hard work and loved to face a challenge head on.

Zach's life tragically came to an end in a car accident on July 5th, 2005. Although this was devastating news in the community, Zach's parents and close friends came together wanting to do something not only to remember him, but to make a difference in the lives of others. The Zach Kemper Memorial Scholarship Fund was established to do exactly that.

There is a tree that was planted (at Stony Point Baseball Fields)  in memory of Zach, and a bench with the word ‘Believe’ engraved in it that has been placed down the third-base line just in front of the bullpen. Additionally, his number 19 is the only number retired from the Stony Point baseball program. Zach’s number 19 football jersey is also retired along with friend and teammate Dell Watson’s number 30 football jersey who passed away in a car accident 9 months before Zach.  Zach’s baseball jersey hangs in the press box behind home plate where all the players on the field can see it, home or visitor.
