ABOUT ZKMSF
The Zach Kemper Memorial Scholarship Fund was established following the passing of Zach in 2005. The organization is dedicated to raising funds throughout the year from numerous fundraisers, special events, and of course, donations. All funds benefit a new recipient at the end of each scholastic year, proividing a college scholarship for a current Stony Point Senior Baseball Player. The committee is made up of Zach’s family and close friends.
After being reviewed by the committee, the candidate must be approved by Stony Point Head Coach, Tom Collins, to be considered for the scholarship. Once approved, candidates write an essay that is reviewed by the committee, who will later sit down with the individual candidate(s) on a more personal level. Once the interview process is complete, a vote is taken and the recipient is decided. Although the award is a dollar amount, it will be presented to someone who genuinely realizes that it's about more than the money... One who recognizes the significance and honor of receiving a scholarship in the name of Zach Kemper.
